John Miller

Through my work I attempt to examine the phenomenon of Mighty Mouse as a metaphorical interpretation of both Salvador Dali and psychedelic hallucinations. What began as a personal journey of hooliganism has translated into images of urban blight and concerts that resonate with fans worldwide. My mixed media images embody an idiosyncratic view of the world, yet the familiar imagery allows for a connection between Jim Morrison, donuts and over caffeinated teens. My work is in the private collection of Mr. Burt Reynolds who said 'Damn!, that's some real repulsive photography.' I am a recipient of a grant from Folsom Prison where I served time for stealing mugs and tie clips from the gift shop of The Speed Art Museum. I have exhibited my photography in many places, from Church's Chicken to the National Gallery, though not at the same time. I currently spend my time between shooting concerts and shooting stars.
